Janice Ruffle of Gordon
Couture's successful career began at a very early age when she began working for her father, Gordon Martin, one of
Canada's most respected bridal designers. Her passion for the wedding dress was instilled early on and still continues to grow. Her gowns
are elegant, classic, and timeless.
A bride who is sophisticated and stylish
is a perfect match for a Gordon dress. She regards style and fit with
price being a secondary concern.

What
exactly goes into the making of a wedding gown?
Months of planning, weeks of production and great
attention to detail.
Janice Ruffle says that studying fabric is their starting point. "We
look at every possible fabric, lace and trim, to see what is being
offered. We study European trends and spend a month or two developing our
ideas."
The entire design process takes several months and a lot of work goes into
the gown, but the team at Gordon Couture agrees that it's worth taking
the time to get it right. "When the dress is finished, it's a great
feeling. I often have a vision of a particular dress on a bride," says
Ruffle, "I'll look at a gown and can picture it in a garden wedding or
an evening ceremony." But the moment when it all comes together is when
we say, "Did we really make that? It's so beautiful!"
